Four cells in a row, column or box that hold only the same four digits between them.
What to look for
The naked triple with one more cell: four cells of one row, column or box whose candidates, together, are just four digits. Its mirror image, the hidden quad, is so rare that it is hardly ever needed.
Why it works
Four cells and four digits: each cell takes one of them, so all four are used up there, and no other cell of that row, column or box can hold any of them.

On a real puzzle
Naked quad
In row 4, four cells can only hold 4, 7, 8, 9.
So 4, 9, 8 can go from the highlighted cells.
The cells that show the pattern are in amber, the cells it changes in green, and the candidates it removes are circled.
