Two digits that fit in only the same two cells of a row, column or box.
What to look for
Pick a row, column or box and two digits it is missing. If each of them fits in only two cells, and they are the same two cells, that is a hidden pair, even if those cells have other candidates too.
Why it works
Those two cells must hold the two digits between them, so there is no room for anything else in them: every other candidate there can go.

Hidden pair
In row 7, 1, 6 fit only in these two cells.
So 3, 7, 4 can go from the highlighted cells.
The cells that show the pattern are in amber, the cells it changes in green, and the candidates it removes are circled.
